The New Years’ Eve midnight “ball drop” on Times Square signifies a new beginning. Out with the old, in with the new.
So, too, at 5:47 p.m., July 4, 2025 our nation felt a new beginning. That was the moment Trump signed the “Big Beautiful Bill” into law. At that moment, I said a prayer of thanks and supplication. “Thank you, Lord. Please protect this man. He has brought us to a modicum of sanity, faster and further than anyone thought possible.
NO, the BBB was not everything that anyone had hoped. Basically, it is a reconciliation bill (able to be passed by a simple majority) which addresses tax policy, border security, immigration, defense, energy production, the debt limit, and adjustments to programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and Medicaid. It kept Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, helped a majority of social security recipients. It addresses the SNAP program by requiring proof of need. Yes, it raised the budget limit, but debt-to-GDP falls to 94% by 2034 under the Trump plan. (that is 23% lower than in Biden world)
It was a start, and far batter than slogging on in Socialist disphoria, as DC has since 2008. IMHO.
As to “Green Energy” projects stuffed down our national throat by O’Biden in 2022, the BBB provided significant changes to the subsidies to solar and wind projects, funded by our tax dollars. Every state whose farm land is being covered with panels and battery farms, can breathe a sign of relief. It rolls back tax credits and subsidies established under Obama/Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act” of 2022, and is estimated to cut back on solar project investment by 40% by 2030. There will be increased funding for fossil fuels; new projects, including tax incentives for development of gas, oil and coal generation. This is quite significant, for a number of reasons.
Solar energy is inefficient and inefective, providing power for less than 22% of each day, even in the Sunshine states”. Yes, as you remember the ten-year power plan for Florida is all about it.
The citizens of states like Florida, whose beautiful open land is being blanketed by solar, should be thrilled. Their legislature? Who knows? Tallahassee has been all behind the push for solar since DeSantis was elected, although somehow DeGov claims to be against it… When did his mind change, or did he just notice? The people of Florida are against solar in large part. Perhaps now, their governor will listen to them.
We are over 330 million people. We have a lot of different wishes. Many of us, from both “sides of the aisle,” have a wish for freedom. The very fact that our President got Congress to pass this piece of legislation answered that wish, even if some did not realize it, or want to admit it.
NOT A SINGLE “D” IN EITHER CHAMBER VOTED FOR IT. We kind of knew they wouldn’t, but hope springs eternal, and all that stuff. The Left was “D” for desperate, to show unity, as the “Democrat Party” disintegrates. They still do not know why this has happened.
I won’t go into that here, either. You can pick that mewling and puking up on any MSM outlet, or crazed Leftist. Their whines are SO far from the truth, they are nauseating. Much of what I have read or heard simply proves they have NO IDEA what is in the BBB, only that they were told to hate it. The party on the Left is in a destructive tailspin, and hate is their only answer.
Obama’s message on this July 4th holiday emphasized the “WE” in “We the People”. It showed that he and his do NOT support a Republic such as we have. He referred to our country as a “democracy”, aka mob rule.
The passage of the BBB mainly showed us that we have national leadership that knows how to get things done for us. THE leadership WE elected, from small towns and rural America, from cities that have not been rotted by mob rule, or election fraud.
We needed that leadership SOoo badly in the face of what has happened to our nation in these past decades.
Barack, The single most powerful message in our Constitution is “republic” is Here, from ThoughtCo.
In a pure democracy, laws are made directly by the voting majority, leaving the rights of the minority largely unprotected. (aka, mob rule, wherein the largest population centers would control everything.) Trust NO ONE who wants to dispose of the Electoral College.
Then, in the midst of this major effort to return America back to our constitutional primciples, there’s Elon, who wants to start a third party. Is this because he didn’t get his way?
Of course, third parties are constitutional but have never done much except to upset the proverbial apple cart. Grok says they have promoted new ideas - like the Socialist and Progressive Parties. Frankly, those ideas are old, deadly and proven NOT to work. We will have to intruduce Grok to the value of a full apple cart.
A huge majority of people seem to think a third party is an abject disaster.
Attention Florida, again. Keep an eye on your Governor.
We know that Musk’s third-party idea is strumming the receptors of Ron DeSantis. Immediately after the first Trump/Musk tiff, DeGov sent out a mailer from the “RON PAC”. Now DeSantis is waving his AG, Untheimer’s idea of Alligator Alcatraz. in front of the public to show what a good Turmp helper he is - which no one believes.
Grok tells us that the comms between Musk and DeSantis are on the rise since the spat.
“The feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, which escalated in early June 2025, has significantly increased discussion about Musk and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, particularly in the context of their past alliance and potential political implications.”
The key points, says Grok, of increased discussion are both the fact that Desantis jumped to Musk’s defense when the disagreement first broke out; and their historical alliance when, in 2023, Musk showed support for DeSantis, particularly during the 2023 launch of DeSantis’ presidential campaign on Twitter Spaces.
We who understand the value of unity, must evaluate what this would do to our nation, should the midterm Congress be diluted with a few more anti-Trumpers. That is ALL Musk’s effort would possible accomplish; perhaps a few percent change in Congressional representation - enough to topple Trump’s slim majority.
Thanks Elon, for the work in DOGE. But, butt out! You were invited to research spending and cheating in the Obama-Biden years, and you did a good job of that. You were not invited to the halls of power to destroy our last chance to save this Republic.
NO MAS, dude! Or however you say that in Musk - speak. America already has enough enemies. We had thought of you as a friend…
At this point, it is too early to tell. There may or may not be a Musk tusk stabbed into the gut of the 2026 midterms. We will have to wait and see how short-sighted and childish are some of the sources (Musk) and uses (DeGov and others) of big political money. Right now, we need unity. Prayers up.
I didn’t start out to share my thoughts on Elon Musk with you. I truly wanted to praise our POTUS for his commitment to us and our country. AND, his success in getting us this far!. (God had a lot to do with that, of course, by saving his life a year ago this month, on July 13, 2024.) This is another day I will remember for life. July 13, 2024, Butler, PA.
Musk, however, is the one wild card that could hurt us all. We can already surmise that the DeGov of Florida would be happy to help hurt the man who beat him so badly in his own state, in the 2024 Presidentail Primaries. It is already very clear, through some of the moves pulled by his RPOF, that DeSantis does NOT care about the wishes of his constituents. NOR is he America First. I can’t help but think that helping Elon Musk run a fools’ mission against President Turmp would fill his heart with glee.
Gov DeSantis, though, does love Elon, especially since the third party talk arose. Again, according to Grok, there have been No explicit mentions directly (which) address Musk in the context of a third-party run, but these interactions show DeSantis consistently referencing Musk in policy and political discussions since the third-party speculation began.
Keep your news nose to the ground. The next months will tell us a lot.
Blessings,
Kat
