It's not surprising; it's universal. I wonder if kids are taught how to read anything more complicated than "Dick and Jane" and write with other than first grade printing -- the scrawl lasts a lifetime and as adults, they are often considered brain damaged. It's amazing -- no matter how bad the schools get, parents continue to send their kids there. Which is understandable -- today's parents were exposed to similar garbage as their kids are today. .

Some of my friends and I thought, in the 80s, that people should have to have a license to have kids. I've lost touch with those friends, but I know I still think it might be a good idea.
