Monster Data Center Invasions
Impacting Communities Hard. For Now.
Hold that thought, “for now”. I’ve learned some very interesting things from the experts.
Just the name, “artificial intelligence” makes a lot of us uncomfortable. Intelligence, we’ve always thought, is an attribute of living things. I do admit that as society goes on, it does seem that those living creatures lower on the food chain, like cats, dogs etc., have more intelligence than do a lot of people today…But I tend to like animals better than most people, anyway so…
The theory of why we need AI, is supposedly, that workers want it to automate repetitive tasks, “while retaining “agency” and oversight over the tasks”. The little AI bots in our computers tell us that workers seek to improve efficiency and the quality of their work, rather than to have fully automated systems, where they would not be needed. Workers want to improve efficiency so that only millions lose their jobs? I don’t buy this…after all, it’s an AI explanation…
I’ve talked about AI with a dear friend from Virginia, whom I trust implicitly. He is now working with an AI group, and tells me that AI is not inherently bad: it’s just how people choose to use it.
That is what scares me. Considering some “people” today.
Putting aside the products of AI, who supports them and why, the first and foremost danger to us all is the massive uses of water and power that are used in the AI centers. These are real life issues, whatever is being done with the massive servers inside these centers.
A recent Gallup poll found that a majority of Americans oppose data centers, which require extensive amounts of electricity and water to operate, and negatively affect local communities, according to CNET (Computer Network). There are good reasons for that opposition.
The Lincoln Institute of Land policy says that even smaller centers use the water of a small town. “Even a mid-sized data center consumes as much water as a small town, while larger ones require up to 5 million gallons of water every day—as much as a city of 50,000 people”, says the Institute.
A conventional data center—think cloud storage for your work documents or streaming videos—draws as much electricity as 10,000 to 25,000 households, according to the International Energy Agency. But a newer, AI-focused “hyperscale” data center can use as much power as 100,000 homes or more. Meta’s Hyperion data center in Louisiana, for example, is expected to draw more than twice the power of the entire city of New Orleans once completed. Another Meta data center planned in Wyoming will use more electricity than every home in the state combined.
Here is a map, of 4300 data centers, planned, under construction or proposed, in all 50 states. This map is from 5 days ago. Consumer advocate, Erin Brockovich, has taken up the cause because of the danger to water and power supplies for towns.
But, greedy politicians love the giant centers, primarily because they generate immense property and corporate tax revenue to fund local budgets. Then the pols look like a super-stars for providing without charging the constituents.
Still there is immense, bi-partisan backlash against them.
Gee…wonder why?? First we’re told that AI will replace us humans, then we’re asked to destroy our homes and lives for that which will.
Florida is a fine example, and the actions of their Governor, both sickening and typical.
DeSantis has made a LOT of statements about protecting his citizens from data centers, as Floridians know. But, like so many other of his on-stage promises, his actions do NOT match his words. When citizens come to to him about the damages a planned IMMENSE data center will to to their community, Tallahassee goes mum.
A bill that recently passed the state legislature, eliminated those protections, promised by DeGov. In March, 2026, Florida lawmakers passed a bill preventing data center costs from increasing residents’ utility bills. Doesn’t that sound nice; talk about a carrot…
However, consumers won't be allowed to know whether one is being constructed near them, based on the final approved version. Also, state agencies will be allowed to enter into nondisclosure agreements with data center companies.
Project Tango, a hyper-HUGE data center is cleared to be built in Arden Fl, a community of about 7000, 17 miles west of West Palm Beach. Tango will cover 202 acres, with over 3.7 MILLION sq ft under roof. It will be three times the size of Musks’s “Colossus” data center in Memphis.
The Saddle View Elementary School in Arden FL, is less than 2000 feet away from the site. The low buzzing of the equipment will be heard both in the classrooms and the playgrounds. Dizziness, vertigo, light pollution, increased stress, cardiac issues and increases in cancer rates, are complaints from those living near those centers already in operation.
Citizens in Florida are speaking out vehemently against Project Tango, but, as per usual, Tally has not responded.
This, sadly, reminds me of the cancer clusters created by the radioactive by product of Phosphate mining, phosphogypsum (Radium 226) which is found in the gravel from the mining operations of the Mosaic Mining Company. Citizens went to Tallahassee repeatedly, with horrible, DOCUMENTED proof from scientists and physicians of the killing cancers where the gravel had been used, and the radioactive WATER which was killing wildlife AND humans.
The citizens were basically ignored. The state did a study. Then, of course, nothing.
The EPA considers the phosphogypsum too dangerous to be used; it has a half-life of 1,600 years. It will take roughly 16,000 years (10 half-lives) for the material to lose its radioactivity and decay to naturally occurring, safe levels. The material is generally banned from widespread public use (such as in building materials or general road beds).
But, in 2023, DeSantis signed a bill allowing the killer by-product to be “experimentally” used in roads construction. Seven months ago, an experimental stretch of road using the deadly product, was begun.
How many people have to die for Tallahassee to care???
Now, in 2026, DeGov is ignoring the citizens AGAIN. Those citizens who do not want their communities to be stripped of power and water, for a data center. The long-term effects of the buzzing noises may yet to have been totally proven, BUT, the loss of their power and water may take the community back to the stone age.
This is NOT just a Florida problem, although, DeGov IS.
Money from developers, which is often “dark money”, allows for vote-seeking promises like removal of property taxes ET AL. Hence, the Mosaic push-off; removal of duly elected county officials who were anti-development; and now, data centers.
This same governor is now posturing for another attempt at 1600, despite the mess he made of his 2024 run - despite his track record of controlling his citizens to do HIS bidding. Just the thought makes me sick.
There are radio and podcast personalities, however, who think DeGov would be great at 1600, in ‘28. Watch out for them. They have some “big names”, but apparently, limited understanding of the truth.
However, at least in re the damages being wrought by the data centers, I have some good news. An expert I truly trust, has explained to me why these massive AI intrusions in our lives will soon end. If we can fight them off for another 4-5 years.
My friend is a lead developer of ELLY, from EAGLE AI, and he knows of what he speaks. On the voter roll verification project, only home computers were utilized, not massive data centers.
In another few years, by the time many of these new and proposed AI projects come online, they will be useless, as people will have more power in their cell phones and desktops than these data centers!
In the 1990’s computing systems were scaled up, by the businessmen trying to get ahead of the competition. That has evolved into Globalist efforts to capture us in a digital prison, with Central Bank currencies et. al. The data centers going up today, and those recently completed have basically been built towards that goal.
However, here’s the good news. By the time these centers, now under construction and in the planning stages, are built out, they will be useless. We are headed for more and more power in a smaller space. Power is coming back to the people whether they like it or not. It’s up to us to learn to use it.
This is good news we will just have to wait for. We must keep at the politicians and boards with complaints, and be sure to name names - individuals and corporate - and demand more hearings, etc. Stall them wherever possible. The years will pass, and we will be in control of our own destiny as best we can be. Prayers up!
Blessings,
Kat

Something about all AI centers does not add up. Water usage. Destruction of our continental fresh water at this time when the sun is radiating brighter than i ever recall. They COULD use ocean water. They also COULD query AI for alternatives. Could some entity be stealing our fresh water? IDK,but this does not add up with use/purpose being told to us. Of what use is winning a race if there is no water for our population to drink?
