This morning, I read that Marco Rubio is rumored to be one of the four finalists in President Trump’s VP choices. Also in the group were OH Sen. JD Vance, ND Governor Doug Bergum and SC Sen. Tim Scott.
My heart and my gut screamed out in unison, “Dear God, NO!”
Rubio just recently voted for a Police State in America, if you recall.
As I did yesterday with the TX Traitor scores, I checked the Liberty Scores for how the three vote in Congress. Bergum, of course, has never been in Congress (kind of like Pence…), He has come out of nowhere into the national scene (kind of like Pence), and that makes me very uncomfortable. He is a former Microsoft executive. That makes it worse.
RUBIO and SCOTT have traitor scores!
TIM SCOTT has a 77%, a “C”, in voting for conservative issues while in Congress according to the Liberty Score. I know his race is supposed to have something to do with it, but, if a black man is to be considered, shouldn’t it be someone like Byron Donald, whose score in upholding conservative principles in his voting, is 100%?
MARCO RUBIO has as 71%, a C-, in voting for conservative issues. He just recently voted for the continuation of warrantless searches and seizures in the FISA 702 renewal!! He is a traitor to America, NOT a choice for Vice President. Many Hispanics already know this.
Heritage Foundation also has a scorecard which they update frequently while Congress is in session. I don’t usually trust Heritage since they, like many, are NOT everything they pretend. Bringing on Mike Pence as a “visiting scholar” for the year after he sold our country down the river by NOT doing his constitutional duty as VP, turned me off of them completely. Yet, if this scorecard is an honest count of votes, it may have some merit, and be a bit more current.
In the Heritage scorecard, Rubio DROPPED to a 69%, while Scott has improved to 87%. Tells me that Scott may be trying to vote more conservatively (to be the VP nominee?), while Marco is doubling down on “traitor”. He clearly does not care.
I know that Rubio is supposed to be attractive to the Hispanic voters, but they are already standing behind Donald Trump is ever increasing numbers. THE NY Times, in March, 2024, admitting to upwards of 40% support from Hispanics. If THEY put this out, we KNOW that the numbers are even stronger. Suffice it to say, the left is worried. If someone in Trump’s inner circle has tried to convince him about Rubio, that means we’re back to 2016 and the suggestion of Mike Pence!
JD Vance scores a 93% on Heritage’s scorecard. He is not to be found in Liberty Scores, which disappoints me. I will be contacting them this week about that.
JD VANCE has a spine. I agree with Revolver News that he would be a good choice. The ONLY good choice among these four. Says Revolver,
“2024 is a very different race at a very different time, and that calls for a very different kind of vice presidential pick. In 2016, the VP choice needed to bolster a potential vulnerability. In 2024, Trump should choose a running mate who emphasizes his strengths.
What are those strengths?
Trump has overwhelming anti-establishment credibility. He is hated by the right people.
Trump has a reflexive hatred of America’s “political bullshit.” He doesn’t fall for or repeat D.C.-concocted scams like “Ukraine is central to American security” or “Illegal immigrants do the jobs Americans won’t do.” This gives Trump an unbeatable reputation as a tells-it-like-it-is straight talker.
Unapologetic America-first nationalism. Doesn’t pretend the rest of the world’s people are just like Americans, except when they’re better.
Trump has an intuitive ability to speak to the concerns and priorities of the “forgotten man” in middle America.
Trump was obviously better at the job than the sitting incumbent.
The nation needs a double layer of “strongman” in DC this time (my thoughts)
Revolver goes on to point out that Trump may well be tied up, literally or figuratively, with the Marxist lawfare being waged against him, between now and November. He needs someone of real strength on the trail representing his AND OUR values. Vance is strong and well-spoken.
“It is entirely within the realm of possibility that Donald Trump will spend a portion of next fall or even Election Night itself behind bars. Far more than in 2016 or 2020, President Trump should have a partner who can speak powerfully to the same core issues that made him such a dynamic political force from the moment he descended the Trump Tower escalator in 2015.”
Please, President Trump, listen to us, the American people who want to live in freedom, not some “advisors”. They are who sold us down the river last time. We do not trust them. We have learned from the past two elections and PRAY that you have as well.
Blessings to our President and to all,
Kat
AND another point. Both Rubio and Trump are from FL if they run as President and VP they would forfeit FL's electors and I don't think Trump can afford to lose the electors from FL.
If this is true it is proof that Trump has learned nothing from the horrid choices he made in 2016 for his VP and heads of cabinets in his administration. JD is acceptable but my money is on Kari Lake. She is not a politician. She is loyal. She loves this country. And it would set the hair of the left on fire.
