As our elected “representatives” show their true colors in DC, we get to know them better by the day. Our eyes are further opened as to who they really are. Especially revealing has been the devil’s dance around selection of Speaker of the House. This ended yesterday in a “secret vote”, ousting one of the remaining real Conservatives in our nation’s capitol, from the possibility of a key leadership role. Secrecy was required , of course, so that no one could publish the truth - who voted against our Constitutional republic. The dance will continue, of course, but all will be decided behind closed doors, as happens in tyranny.
Here is an easy way to know that truth: the Liberty Score, published by the Conservative Review. You can refer to it any time instead of waiting for a report, or digging for the information yourself. I find it easier to use than the Congressional Record (and who knows if THAT’s the truth, anymore). I use the information when I am writing about a certain individual; it usually gets some attention, frequently from the politician.
The Conservative Review analyzes every elected representative on their votes cast, and gives them a Liberty Score, the percentage of their total voting history that has been either conservative or liberal. Each politician gets both a number and a letter grade, just like in school. Look up your state by going to:

You’ll be fascinated. You can check out every name in the news, and know where they stand - for us or against us. What I enjoy is that you can easily hop back and forth from state to state to get a good picture of the national scene. You can use this information FOR them or AGAINST THEM. Some, of course, are obvious. Some will surprise you, for better or worse.
I say “for better or for worse”, the traditional line in a marriage vow, to remind us that we are NOT wed to these people. We CAN part ways with them if we work at it. As of now, we still have that power. There are SO many of these Congress Critters- both state and national - that we should get out of our lives ASAP! In the next days, I’ll begin to talk about how best to do this. A good divorce can change the whole future.
As we move towards election season for the ‘24 races, we have a lot of work to do if we want to save this nation. That work, as we’ve said, must be done in our own communities where we have the power. We must start by knowing which elected representative is doing what, when they get to DC or our state capitals, and away from us.
I will write about suggestions for effective local action in the coming days. This will be the kind of things that I’m always talking about when I say, “off the couch and out the door…we have a country to save." Let’s make this an exchange of ideas as we go along. I love to hear comments and suggestions that will strengthen the arrows in our quiver, and I promise to share them as they come.
You may have already found a favorite source for checking the record of votes cast by our elected representatives, of making sure that they represent us. If so, I’d love for you to tell me in the comments here, so that I can share your finds here as well. Yes, as much as I hate it that it’s become a “hillary quote”, we ARE stronger together. And, no, that’s not a typo. I just can’t bring myself to capitalize certain names…
Thanks for checking in, and please remember, freedom is not an indoor sport.
