Excellent! Now please look into HB943, SB 184, both of which are more of SB 1118 with the added denigration of SFH properties through a mandated ADU ordinance!!! We are peddling hard to kill these bills too! We are engaged in a game of whackamole against the UN agenda that has captured our “ free state”.

Thank you, Mary. I will do so right away. Several others have suggested 943 as well. Florida citizens must put on a full-court press (Congrats on the national title, btw) to make Tallahassee step down from this insanity.

Indeed we do and thank YOU Kat for all of your help and hard work! You are awesome.

I work with John Hallman and Bob White of the RLC to create and send the action alerts to our members and hope they move on and out across the state.

I believe our state organizations need to do a much better job of working together to be effective in killing the beast. I hope to work on that….

Florida has some of THE best citizen activists in the country. You WILL win in the end, and part of that will be exposing all the rot in the "Republican" organization. I am here to help however and whenever I can.

Mary, please see my response to Kat above. I copied and pasted the email I sent to reps for Districts 1, 2, and 4 since right now, we in District 3 have no representation.

Kat, here is the email I sent on Tuesday, the 8th, to some of our "intrepid" "leaders" in the Florida House re H.B. 943:

"Dear Representatives Maney, Andrade, and Salzman,

The House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee will have a hearing tomorrow on this legislation. As a District 3 Floridian without representation in the House, I write to you today as a courtesy and to notify you of my strong opposition to House Bill 943. I can assure you I have plenty of company in Santa Rosa County – and in your counties – standing opposed.

If passed, this legislation would further centralize in Tallahassee decision-making over local land use and development. Aside from the obvious practical absurdities of such a move, it is anathema to the very foundations and ideals of this country. Allow edicts from afar? Sounds familiar – and not in a good way.

Allow the use of force – even if indirect – over local residents and their county commissioners? Truly, how un-American is that? Centralized decision-making over property??? The obliteration of property rights by a small group out of Tallahassee?

A one-size fits all approach to property development in areas as diverse as Santa Rosa County is to Miami-Dade??? Seriously, who comes up with this kind of nonsense?

Crashing well-established single-family neighborhoods with all manner of housing and other development? All of which would be done via orders out of Tallahassee? And done via prohibition of input from local people and their duly-elected county commissioners?

And Santa Rosa County’s farms and farming communities..? Leading the State in how many crops?? And Tallahassee would dictate, via H.B. 943, just how that land would get impacted…by “development?” Not the farmers and Commissioners?

This legislation would add insult to the injury that was the ruse called the “Live Local Act.” Who would support such a thing?

I have copied my County Commissioners on this message. I have also copied all members of Intergovernmental Affairs Committee and the Governor’s office.

Please join me in opposing House Bill 943 and its companion in the Senate.

Sincerely,"

And? Cue the crickets...except for a few auto-replies. We do have our work cut out for us.

Thank you, Mary. We're up in Santa Rosa County. The Santa Rosa County Republican Executive Committee has sounded the alarm on both of these.

Bob White of the Republican Liberty Caucus is also sounding the alarm.

You're exactly right -- this is a game of whack-a-mole against the power-freak centralizers (read Communists) in our midst -- even in the "free" state of Florida.

State RECs and all Florida Sheriffs must band together to either prevent or NULLIFY these bills if the dopes in Tallahassee pass them.

Awesome! We in Franklin County also passed the Save Rural Florida resolution in our REC. I am the RLC regional director in the Big Bend, chapter chair and member of the RLC legislative committee helping to write and sending out these alarms. I recently had the pleasure of meeting your director, Sharon Reagan at the Bay County Constitutional County event.

We all have our work cut out for us!

Sharon is wonderful! It's always to uplifting to meet women who are such staunch supporters of liberty.

Thank you, Kat. Just published this over at my Twitter ("X") account, and I cross-posted it to my Substack.

Damn these control freaks and communists. My God Almighty! They just cannot help themselves. Busy. Always so busy...making life miserable for the rest of us.

The stench when all of this breaks loose is going to be nearly overwhelming. We must stay the course to fresh air whenever and wherever we find it.

Oh my goodness, this is SO WELL WRITTEN! You, I, and so many others here see that we are at a chilling crossroads here in Florida. The Swamp has gained the upper hand, and they are doubling down.

Yes!: "Your state government does not CARE what you want. They don’t even pretend anymore."

Our Florida legislature is broken. Our Republican State Party is broken. But are We, the People, broken? "Saddle them up and ride them hard, Floridians. If you cannot prevent this takeover of the peoples’ choices, soon you may not even find a place to keep your horse."

We're at a point where it needs to be all hands on deck. Joining you in sounding the alarm in my own corner here in Florida.

Thank you, Admin. See my reply to Mary helms on this. We're up in Santa Rosa County and trying to ride them hard.

One disadvantage we have -- District 3 -- is that our State Rep, Dr. Joel Rudman, threw his hat in the ring when Gaetz left his seat for the federal AG role that never happened. Now we are without representation in Tallahassee.

This developer's dream of a bill is just one more progressive step in the continuing dilution of Home Rule authority guaranteed by both the Florida and US Constitutions. Centralized authority over land use using a Unified Development Code and easily changed Comprehensive Plan are insidious and continuing threats to the liberty of individual, small property owners in both this and these United States. The new Chapter 124 of the Sarasota County Code of Ordinances adopted in 2018 is effectively turning both the older residential neighborhoods and pristine, undeveloped areas in the unincorporated county into one large homeowners association with the Planning and Development Services and County Commissions as it's board of directors. We the People of the States must stop this consolidation of power over land use into both the Tallahassee and Washington DC swamps.
