In the election integrity movement, we are chasing in a lot of different directions, but if you were to do a root analysis on the entire thing, you need to start to categories things as a "people problem" or a "process problem."

Much like getting rid guns will not stop criminals from using them, I don't believe getting rid of the voting machines will stop election fraud. Much like we have Constitutional Sheriffs who uphold the law and protect our rights, who has the equivalent position in our elections?

The problem is when you look across the US now, Secretary of States are actually conspiring against We The People. They are siding with private vendors. They are neglecting their duties to make sure ONLY US CITIZENS are being registered to vote. And last but not least, they actually work to stop any hand count checks agains the machines.

It's time to focus on the root cause of the problem.

Kris, you're correct that election fraud will not cease. But you're missing a bigger point. The COST and EFFORT of pulling off election fraud goes up significantly with paper ballots. It's not just a matter of flipping a few bits via a remote computer connection and shipping in ballots to help reconcile the numbers. (which aren't even being allowed to be checked for reconciliation!!)

Great article, Kat. We have a lot of work to do but it can be done. In 4.5 months Argentina dumped their machines and went to hand counts of paper ballots before their last election. We can do it here.

Amen and thank you, Patti! We can AND MUST.
